This recognition celebrates our pioneering work on the Design and Construction of the 330-meter Span Prestressed Concrete Cantilever Bridge at Bagchhal over the Govind Sagar Reservoir on the Panjpiri-Kutehla Bagchhal Road (RD 4/950, Phase II), Dist. Bilaspur.

About the Bagchhal Bridge Project

• India's Longest Cantilever Girder Bridge: Features a central span of 185 meters, side spans of 72.5 meters each, and a total width of 12 meters.
• Innovative Construction Technique: Built using the Balanced Cantilever Method, with superstructure depth varying from 3 meters at the stitch unit to 10 meters at the pier root.
• Pioneering Design: The first Indian bridge designed with a combination of external and internal prestressing cables, setting new engineering benchmarks.
• Advanced Foundation Details: Piers rest on shaft foundations at P1 and P2, while uplift spherical bearings at abutment provided to counteract uplift.
• Historical Context: Construction began in 2004 over the Govind Sagar, a backwater of the Bhakra Nangal Dam, connecting Swarghat and Marotan.
